My Familiar: 'Gary Grommet'. According to the Online Dictionary, a familiar is 'a demon supposedly attending and obeying a witch, often said to assume the form of an animal'. Most of the videos and illustrations that I had looked at for inspiration leaned towards the dark side, but for me, I felt that my familiar should rather be a companion or a servant. For quite a long time I struggled coming up with an idea until one day I heard the lyric "I got a demon in my ear" (from a track on Soundcloud) which, was the spark for this creative journey. With not much time left until the deadline, I came up with a character and a simple storyline about an unappreciated grommet who likes to spend his time maintaining the hygiene of my ears in silence.
